BPM Debuts World’s First Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Data for DNlite-IVD103 at MKS 2022, Accelerating European Expansion

After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the premier annual event for nephrology in the Mediterranean—the 5th Congress of Mediterranean Kidney Society (MKS 2022)—returns to Dubrovnik, Croatia, from September 29 to October 2. Bio Preventive Medicine Corp. ("BPM", Stock Code: 6810) announced today (29th) that Professor Marijana Vučić Lovrenčić, an authority in medical diagnostics recommended by local distributors, has been selected to deliver an oral presentation at the congress. She will present a clinical research paper utilizing DNlite-IVD103 on patients with Type 1 diabetes. The findings demonstrate that DNlite-IVD103 can be effectively applied to assess, predict, and monitor the risk of renal function deterioration in Type 1 diabetic patients. 

A Global First: Expanding Indications to Type 1 Diabetes

This milestone marks another successful multinational validation for DNlite-IVD103, following continuous indication expansions and long-term follow-up studies in Taiwan and Europe. Crucially, it represents the world's first published clinical research on the application of DNlite-IVD103 in Type 1 diabetes. Dr. Karen Tseng, Chairman and CEO of BPM, will attend the congress in person to engage in further discussions with Professor Lovrenčić. The company aims to leverage this robust clinical data to expand the regulatory indications of DNlite-IVD103, officially incorporating patients with Type 1 diabetes.

Re-energizing the European Market Post-Pandemic

Dr. Tseng noted that DNlite-IVD103 is the world's first ELISA diagnostic test designed to prevent the rapid progression of Diabetic Kidney Disease (DKD). The product secured the European CE IVD mark in February 2020 and subsequently finalized agreements with multiple regional distributors. However, market promotion efforts in Europe were temporarily hindered by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
